Learn About How I Help Families with Infant Gas, Reflux, Sleep - Khyati's Story

My name is Khyati, and I am the founder of Vyana Infant Massage. My path here began long before I ever taught a single stroke — it started in the hands of the women in my family, who passed down the tradition of Ayurvedic touch as a form of love, healing, and connection. Rooted in ancient Indian wisdom, infant massage was never just a practice in my home; it was a language parents and babies used to build trust, ease discomfort, and mark the sacred, often overwhelming, early months of life. I carry that inheritance into Vyana, blending time-honored Ayurvedic principles with a modern understanding of infant development, so that today’s parents can access a practice that has nurtured families for generations.

Before founding Vyana, I spent years in Director-level nonprofit work, leading community and resident engagement efforts. That work taught me how to build trust at scale, listen closely to what people actually need, and turn good intentions into real, structured support — skills I bring into every course, guide, and one-on-one session I offer.

But at its heart, Vyana is deeply personal. As a mother of two, I know the exhaustion, the doubt, and the quiet magic of those first months.

The moment I truly understood the power of this practice was with my own daughter. When my older daughter was two, she was in real distress with severe gas pain — the kind of crying that makes a mother feel utterly helpless. Almost by chance, I had learned a traditional gas and colic relief routine just that day, and in a moment of quiet desperation, I tried it on her. Within minutes, her body relaxed, her crying stopped, and she drifted into peaceful relief. I remember sitting there, stunned by how something so simple and ancient could work so fast, so effectively, when nothing else had.

Years later, when my younger daughter was just two months old, she began struggling with reflux — the kind that leaves you searching for answers and weighing options you never wanted to consider. Rather than turning to medication, I turned to touch. Using targeted massage techniques rooted in the same Ayurvedic tradition, I was able to ease her discomfort and help her tiny body find relief, naturally and without a single dose of medicine. Watching her settle, feed more comfortably, and rest peacefully confirmed what I already suspected: these techniques weren’t a one-time fluke — they were a reliable, gentle alternative that deserved a place in every parent’s toolkit.

Both experiences, five years apart, taught me the same lesson from two different angles: that ancient wisdom, applied with intention, can meet modern parenting challenges without compromise. I knew immediately that this wasn’t something I could keep to myself — it was something every mother deserved to have in her hands.

My mission is to hand parents a tool that’s both ancient and practical: a way to soothe a fussy tummy, calm a nervous system, and help parents feel confident that your hands are enough.

Most days you can find me: Practicing yoga and meditation for self-care.

I am mostly known for: Adventure! Care and compassion for others.

I love serving the world by: volunteering, working on my own growth, and helping my friends and family.

Vyana Infant Massage was born in May 2018. Vyana (“outward moving air”) is one of the 5 energy subdivisions of Prana, the life force in each of us. Vyana is the energy that permeates the whole body, governing the nerves, veins, joints, and muscles. Regular massage can help support Vyana so that one can experience greater harmony, balance, and coordination.
